Gadgets you won’t find in a car, fortunatly

without comments

We all know that our cars are filled with gadgets and gizmo’s these days, and one of the biggest ones that has become such a big hit is Bluetooth, however, not all car gadgets invented can be as popular as Bluetooth.

Here are just a few of the unheard and slightly eccentric gadgets that have been thought up.

One of most eccentric has to be the automatic lit cigarette dispenser, this device was intended as a safety device, it would pre-light a cigarette in a holder so you don’t have to fumble about trying to light up.

In 1956 Chrysler offered a highway hi-fi was offered as an LP player for your car, however, the player had drawbacks when you went over small bumps, turning fast corners or braking.

Other odd gadgets include the electric car shaver, a pressure cooker mounted to the bumper and watch that could be attached to the steering wheel.

Although most of the old gadgets seem slightly wacky, not all seem so eccentric. In the 1959, Chrysler offered swivelling seats which are similar to the swivelling seats that come in the Grand Voyager.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get any of these gadgets when I leased my last car, shame, I got stuck with Bluetooth when I could have had a bumper-mounted pressure cooker, why didn’t these things catch on :P

The phone is reportedly going to have a camera, WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth and an MP3 player, the price is hazy but its rumoured to be around £200.

The design of the phone itself is similar to the popular LG Chocolate, it features a 2 inch widescreen display, making it better to view the Google features.
