Skype Has Become a Huge Concern
Over a decade ago cell phones were impossible to carry around because they were so big and had to technology on them whatsoever. If we now move forwards to the current day and age, we are seeing phones be released that have a selection of awesome features.
But probably the biggest innovation is the creation of internet access; you can now access the internet just as you would do on a computer. And this in fact is causing the main mobile providers a big headache. We all know for years that service providers have been making their money by over charging customers huge amounts for calls and text messages.
But as internet access on mobiles phones grow so do access to free wifi spots, so this could potentially wipe out all of the mobile phone networks, because what is happening is that people are connecting to the internet and accessing Skype, which gives you the ability to have free calls between Skype users. Most of the UK providers have already banned VoIP access, but Nokia’s recent release of their N97 come’s pre installed with Skype giving users the ability to easily access the service.
The networks should not be blocking things like this, in my view, as it just makes them look ridiculous. We are currently in the midst of a huge credit crunch; people want to be able to find ways to save money. I 100% believe that Three took the correct approach by offering their users the freedom of choice and that is why their company has expanded. I believe that if the networks want to make their business a success, then they need to find a way to partner up with services such as Skype and offer a revenue share scheme.

Technology and the Mobile Phone
Gadgets are amazing. They enable our lives to be so much easier and enable us to go through life with a little bit more fluidity. They are everywhere and indeed we can take them wherever we go. To town, or vacation as well as being a major part of modern day works. Their versatility allows us to get connected to others; almost everywhere we go to and improve communication significantly.
So what gadgets feature most in people’s lives? I would argue the most common gadget that we rely heavily upon nowadays is the mobile phone. In fact so many people have said they actually feel naked without it. We depend upon mobile phones for a number of different things and the price of them has dropped considerably over the last few years with pay as you go phones almost being given away by retailers.
As the mobile phone is the most commonly used gadget, what do people actually use them for? This has so many answers that it would take pages and pages to get near to answering. One particular benefit of the mobile phone has been the fact that they allow us an element of safety in that they provide us with a constant line of communication between us and our loved ones.
The trusty mobile phone has actually saved people in difficult situations. I have read stories about people getting lost in snowstorms contacting their families. They have then contacted local mountain rescue teams and help has been initiated. Without the phone, it is difficult to work out how such people would have survived, as their lives had been saved.
As alluded to earlier, mobile phones are an integral part of the business community. In fact to such an extent it is hard to think about how businesses operated prior to their inception. From van drivers working out on the roads, needing to keep in touch with the office, to community wardens relying upon them for safety reasons, mobile phones are a gadget that features so heavily.
Mobile phones, as a gadget, can also be somewhat restrictive to some people. Historically, many workers were able to enjoy their weekends with few interruptions. This then enable people to relax and unwind and to recoup ready for the next busy working week ahead.
As employees often take their work phones home with them, it can be hard to escape the pleasures of work as staff can so easily be contacted by their employers. Although the weekend used to be a time of happiness and relaxation away from the workplace, the mobile phone ringing can be somewhat of an issue, especially so if it is your boss at the other end of the phone.

The 10 year technological development of gadgets
Within modern society, gadgets are almost everywhere. If you consider that only 10 years ago people had far fewer gadgets available to them. It is difficult o think how people manage to cope back then without the access to the large amount of gadgets we now have. As time has developed, the availability of technology and gadgets has increased.
So what are the examples of gadgets that we now have access to? Well, the main ‘gadget’ that many of us use is the mobile phone. We use this without thinking now and it is considered and essential tool that we carry with us everywhere we go. Many people actually feel naked without their trusty mobile phone and are heavily dependent upon it for work and home life.
At home, the most common gadget that some people have is the MP3 player, and this was not in existence as little as 10 years ago. With MP3 players we can store all of our favourite tunes and songs and subsequently listen to hours and hours of high quality music; indeed, the sound of the mp3 player is as good as, if not better than the traditional CD system.
I remember as a small child getting a cassette walkman for a birthday present and being overjoyed. This clunky, large metal box had bright red headphones and large clunky buttons. I had never felt so much pride as the day that I walked into school with my cassette recorder. Modern day mp3 players are so small in comparison and yet the sound quality is much better than my old cassette player.
Mp3 players have developed over the last 10 years amazingly as well. My first mp3 player I owned was actually quite big; however it did last for many years and the sound n it was good. You can now but fully waterproof mp3 players. Not just splash resistant, but fully sealed swimming mp3 players that allow you to break the boredom of swimming length after length.
IPhones are a common gadget that many people are now buying. I own the lasts iphone and I find it hard to imaging just how I coped back then. I can check my emails wherever I am and this is certainly good for my business in that I can respond to my customer’s queries expediently. I forts go onto computers 10 years ago and I can’t imagine that my computer back than had less power than my mobile phone.
Many people have gadgets in their home and indeed on their person. Although there has been a significant development in the technology of gadgets over the last 10 years, in the next 10 years there will be even more progress as technology advances. Just like 10 years ago, the technology that we have at our fingertips now will become almost laughable when we look back from the year 2019.
Gadgets are a common feature in todays society and gadget insurance is advisable. As the risk of damaging portable gadgets is high, gadget insurance would provide protection accordingly. Many specialist laptop insurance specialists offer this type of insurance cover.
