There are many different kinds of toys and games out in time for Christmas but this year it would seem that the games on Xbox 360 need a look into, simply because there are so many.

These games are just some of the games you have to get this side of Christmas.

If you’ve been watching James May’s Toy Stories you may have been reminded of the fun that you had as a child playing with Lego, Meccano, Scalextric and Plasticene.

Mr May clearly has fond memories of his childhood, playing with toys that encouraged and fostered creativity. Unlike today’s computer consoles and shoot-em-up games construction toys like Lego and Meccano provided many hours of hands-on fun as well as being educational. Its unlikely that youngsters are going to learn very much from playing the latest version of Call of Duty.

I’m not one to shun new technology and gadgets, my children love them, so I can see their benefit. My problem is with people telling me that new gizmos are infinitely “better” than old ones. Surely how ‘good’ toys or gadgets are is a reflection of how much enjoyment you get out of them. I know for a fact people don’t get more enjoyment just because these new toys are more technologically advanced, its just different enjoyment.
